The Bangladesh Public Service Commission has announced that the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service general cadre oral examinations scheduled for Aug 1, Aug 4, and Aug 5 have been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.
PSC spokesman SM Matiur Rahman confirmed the decision on Monday, reports bdnews24.com.
The exams were suspended for now and new dates for them would be announced at a later time, he said.
Amid clashes and violence nationwide surrounding the ‘complete shutdown’ programme announced by the quota reform movement, mobile internet service was disrupted on Jul 17 and broadband internet was disrupted the following day.
Under the circumstances, the PSC suspended the exams on Jul 24. The PSC said at the time that due to unavoidable circumstances, the oral examinations (cadre and non-cadre) for the 44th BCS would be suspended until Jul 31. The non-cadre written, practical, and oral examinations were also suspended at the time.
