The oral tests for the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam, known as viva voce, will commence on Jul 8, the Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced.
A total of 585 candidates have been called for the first round of interviews -- 481 from the general cadre and 104 from the technical and professional cadres, the PSC said on Wednesday.
The interviews will run through Jul 15, reports bdnews24.com.
Candidates who passed the 45th written test but are also scheduled to sit the 46th written exam, the 47th BCS preliminary exam, or the 48th special BCS written exam will have their viva held either a month before or after those respective exams.
The commission has requested details from such candidates to coordinate accordingly.
The PSC had earlier announced a roadmap to resolve scheduling overlaps between the 44th and 48th BCS exams.
As part of that plan, the 45th written exam results were published on Jun 19, advancing 6,558 candidates to the viva stage.”
The roadmap schedules the final 45th BCS results for publication on Dec 10.
The 46th BCS written exam is set to begin on Jul 24, with results due on Dec 18.
The circular for the 45th BCS was originally published on Nov 30, 2022.
The preliminary exam was held on May 19, 2023, with 268,119 candidates appearing.
Results were published on Jun 6, with 12,789 candidates qualifying for the written exam, which took place from Jan 23-31, 2024.
