The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has published the schedule for the 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examinations.

According to the PSC, the written tests for compulsory subjects will be held from Jul 24 to Aug 3, while the examinations for post-related subjects will take place from Aug 10 to 21.

Details regarding exam venues, seating arrangements, and other important instructions will be available on the PSC website, at www.bpsc.gov.bd.

The PSC announced the revised exam dates on May 21, after suspending the previous schedule due to protests by job seekers.

A total of 21,397 candidates, who passed the preliminary exam in two phases, are now awaiting the written tests.

Originally, the written exams were scheduled to be held from Aug 28 August to Sep 9 last year. However, on Aug 25, the exams were postponed due to political uncertainty following a change in government.

On Nov 18, in an attempt to “eradicate discrimination”, the PSC announced that twice the number of candidates would be allowed to pass the preliminary stage, and a revised list of successful candidates would be announced.

Later, on Mar 24, the PSC declared that the written exams would begin on May 8. However, following continued protests by candidates, that schedule was also suspended.
