The third phase of the viva voce exams for the 48th special BCS, focused on recruiting doctors, will begin on August 17.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Public Service Commission (PSC) said the latest round of oral exams will be held at its offices in Dhaka's Agargaon and will continue until August 21.
As many as 5,206 candidates cleared the MCQ written exam for the 48th special BCS held on July 20, bdnews24.com reports.
Among them, 4,695 were considered eligible for the viva for the position of assistant surgeon, and 511 for the position of assistant dental surgeon. The viva for the special BCS began on August 6.
The PSC had published the circular for the 48th special BCS on May 29 to recruit 3,000 doctors.
Out of the advertised positions, 2,700 will be appointed as assistant surgeons, and 300 as assistant dental surgeons.
