A case was filed against 500 people in connection with Tuesday’s clash between police and a group of BNP leaders and activists in front of the High Court.
Matiur Rahman, sub-inspector of Shahbagh Police Station, filed the case at night against 20-25 identified and 475 unidentified people, said Arifur Rahman, inspector of Shahbagh Police Station.
Two policemen were injured in a clash between a group of BNP leaders and activists and police while they were staging a demonstration in front of the High Court seeking Khaleda Zia’s release on Tuesday.
A number of vehicles were also vandalised during the clash, reports a news agency.
Besides, police in a drive arrested Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat from Hazrat Shahjalal international Airport in connection with the case at around 1:45am, said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
He was scheduled to go to US, Rizvi said.
