Some 512 people were killed and 793 others injured in road accidents in December 2023 across the country.
During the period, a total of 517 road accidents occurred where the number of accidents involving motorcycles was the highest, according to Road Safety Foundation (RSF).
Among the deceased, 59 were women and 64 children, said the report, released on Thursday.
A total of 201 people died in 213 motorcycle crashes in the last month which is 39.25 per cent of the total deaths, said the report.
Besides, the number of waterway accidents in December was nine where 17 people died. Some 31 were killed and 23 others injured in 26 railway accidents.
The RSF prepared the report based on news items from nine national dailies, seven online news portals and visual media.
