5.4-magnitude earthquake jolts Northeastern Bangladesh

An earthquake of 5.4-magnitude on the Richter scale shook Northeastern parts of the country including Sylhet on Saturday night.

The epicentre of the moderate quake was India-Myanmar bordering region, 318-km East of the Seismic Cntre at Bangladesh Metrological Department in the capital's Agargaon area, said a met office bulletin issued on Sunday.

The tremor was felt at 11:15 pm Bangladesh time, it added.

Being feared over the shook, people rushed out of their houses, reports UNB.

No loss of lives or property has been reported due to the earthquake so far.
