The Bangladesh Police Academy has issued show-cause notices to 59 trainee sub-inspectors (SIs) for allegedly disrupting training sessions by “sitting haphazardly and causing commotion.”
Ten trainees received notices on Monday, followed by another 49 on Thursday. The notices were issued by Superintendent of Police Tarek Bin Rashid on behalf of the academy’s principal.
Several trainee sub-inspectors confirmed receiving the notices, expressing concern about potential further dismissals, as the academy recently dismissed 252 trainee SIs over disciplinary issues.
When contacted, Academy Principal Additional IGP Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan said that show-cause notices are a routine matter and can be issued for various reasons.
