Members of detective branch (DB) under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 61 persons for consuming and selling drugs in the capital city during last 24 hours ending 6:00am today (Tuesday).
According to a DMP statement, as part of the campaign, the police raided different areas under various police stations and detained 61 drug abusers and recovered drugs from their possessions.
Police seized 283 grams of heroin, 6.7 kilograms of cannabis, 10,567 pieces of yaba tablets and five-can beer from them during the raids, the statement added.
Police filed 40 cases against the arrestees in this connection with police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act, reports BSS.
