ACC Pabna district office’s special team arrested office assistant of Chauhali Upazila Primary Education Officer Abdul Malek from his office around 2pm, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.

Md Shariful Islam, the headmaster of a primary school in Chauhali, recently went to the local education office for receiving approval to his salary and arrears of Tk 400,000.

The teacher met the local education officer but he advised Shariful to communicate with Abdul Malek. When the teacher met Malek, he demanded Tk 20,000 for the work. Later, he agreed to do so for Tk 10,000.

The victim then submitted a written complaint against the education official with the Commission.

In consultation with the ACC officials, the plaintiff went to the education office on Thursday to give Malek Tk 10,000 in bribe.

While receiving the money, the ACC team caught him.

Later in the day, ACC assistant director Golam Mowla of its Pabna office filed a case against Abdul Malek with Chauhali Police Station in connection with the incident.
