ACC sues Rajuk director Mobarok, wife for amassing wealth illegally

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Director (Development and Control-II) Md Mobarok Hossain and his wife Sahana Parveen for allegedly acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income.

The ACC Assistant Director Asif Al Mahmud filed the cases with the commission’s Integrated District Office in Dhaka-1 on Tuesday.

According to the case statements, Mobarok amassed wealth worth of Tk 4.14 million (41.46 lakh) from unknown sources, while Sahana, a housewife, acquired assets worth of Tk 15.8 million (1.58 crore).

The couple accumulated their illegal assets together through corruption during Mobarok’s employment at Rajuk, the statements say.
