Home Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has cautioned officials at the passport and visa wings at Bangladesh missions abroad against political partisanship.
He also urged them to work with a service-oriented mindset at an orientation and training session for passport and visa officials on Sunday, reports bdnews24.com.
He said, “Any form of corruption will not be tolerated. Moreover, no political allegiance will be acceptable.”
He also called on officials to refrain from actions that could undermine the nation’s dignity and reputation.
Highlighting the role of expatriates, he said migrants, most of whom belong to the working class, are the driving force of Bangladesh’s economy, as they sustain the country’s economic foundation by sending remittances.
“While providing passport and other services, you must maintain courteous behaviour and positive relations with expatriates,” he added.
He also called on them to foster good relations with colleagues at embassies and missions to ensure a congenial and cooperative working environment.
