Air ticket fraud under investigation, Home Secretary says

Investigations into fraud in air ticket sales, particularly for Middle Eastern routes, are going on, Senior Home Secretary Nasimul Gani has said. 

Speaking to reporters ahead of a meeting with representatives from about 25 private airlines at the Secretariat on Sunday, Mr Gani said authorities were looking into airfare hikes and black market ticket sales. 

The Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry has reportedly formed a committee, led by Mr Gani, to examine the issue. The committee has been given 15 working days to submit its report.
