Airlines asked to reissue tickets free of cost for flood-hit passengers

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has directed 33 airlines operating through Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) to reissue or rebook tickets free of charge for passengers who miss their flights due to the ongoing floods affecting the country.

In a letter to the airlines, HSIA’s Executive Director Group Captain Md. Kamrul Islam said many passengers are having difficulties in reaching the airport due to the current flood situation in the country.

In this context, he said, airlines have been requested to assist their passengers in providing free ticket changes for passengers from flood-affected areas.

Additionally, the airlines have also been asked to ensure 24-hour passenger service.
