Police arrested former Awami League lawmaker Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu from Uttara area of Dhaka on Monday
Shambhu was rounded up at 7:30 pm in connection with a number of murder cases filed after the fall of AL government on August 5 last in face of the student-people movement, reports BSS.
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner of detective branch (DB) of police, confirmed the news agency of the arrest.
Shambhu would be produced before the court tomorrow, police said.
