Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey on Friday welcomed the meeting between Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “significant moment” for Bangladesh-India relations.
“Bangladesh is reclaiming its rightful place on the global stage with a sovereign and courageous foreign policy—one that is direct, focused, balanced, and nuanced,” he said in a Facebook post from his verified account.
Mushfiqul said it is encouraging to see big neighbour India is recognising Bangladesh with a fresh approach and deeper understanding.
“I hope the Indian government is realising the will of the Bangladeshi people. This is the kind of diplomacy we must uphold—one that strengthens regional ties and positions Bangladesh as an assertive and respected player in global affairs. The future is ours to shape,” he said.
Yunus and Modi had the much-talked-about meeting on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok on Friday.
