Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and Mahfuj Alam, two student representatives serving as advisers to the interim government, have resigned from their positions as advisers.
Local news portals, citing sources at the Chief Adviser’s Office, confirmed the development on Wednesday evening.
Later, at a press conference, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said their resignation letters will come into effect soon after the announcement of the election schedule on Thursday evening.
After the formation of the interim government on August 8 in 2024, Asif Mahmud served as the adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives and the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Meanwhile, Mahfuj has served as the adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
