Adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, and Ministry of Youth and Sports Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan has warned that law enforcers will take stringent action if the Awami League or the banned Chhatra League attempts to hold any program.

“Law enforcement agencies will take strict measures against those associated with war criminals or banned organisations attempting to hold programs”, he wrote in a post on his verified Facebook page on Saturday.

The statement was made ahead of a planned protest rally by the Awami League on Sunday.

The party, through their verified Facebook page, called for a gathering to demand the ‘restoration of democracy’ in Bangladesh on Saturday.

Awami League leaders urged party members to assemble at the Noor Hossain Square at Zero Point in the capital on Sunday for the rally.
