

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday arrested a former UP chairman from Dhaka's Fakirapool area for his involvement in a violent attack on students and the public during the recent Anti-discrimination Student Movement, reports UNB.
The arrestee is Md Mazharul Islam Masud, former chairman of Danapatuli Union Parishad of Kishoreganj Sadar, said ASP Imran Khan of RAB Headquarters (media wing).
Masud ordered the attack and firing on the students during the anti-discrimination student movement at Kishoreganj Sadar on August 4, added the RAB official.
