An attempt to murder case has been filed against Chinmoy Krishna Das, former ISKCON leader and spokesperson for Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatan Jagran Jote, and 163 others in Chattogram.
Enamul Haque, a businessperson, filed the case with Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate court on Sunday.
Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Bakar Siddique took the case into cognisance, said advocate Mohammad Mainuddin, a lawyer of the plaintiff.
On November 26, Enamul, who came to the court for registration purposes of a piece of land, was physically assaulted by the supporters of Chinmoy amid violence following the denial of his bail petition in a sedition case.
Saiful Islam Alif, a lawyer, was hacked to death on the court premises during the clash on the same day.
So far, five cases have been filed in connection with the lawyer's murder and violence.
