Aslamul Hoque, the Awami League MP from Dhaka-14, has passed away at a Dhaka hospital. He was 60.
He breathed his last at Square Hospitals at 11:00am on Sunday, said Azizul Hoque Rana, organising secretary of Dhaka north unit of Bangladesh Awami League, BSS reports.
Aslamul was rushed to the hospital after he had suddenly fallen ill in the morning, he said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the passing of Aslamul and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul.
