Bailey Road restaurant catches fire

A fire broke out at a restaurant located on the Bailey Road in the capital on Monday evening.

Shahjahan Shikder, a deputy assistant director at the Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire broke out at the ground floor of Siraj Capital Centre Shopping Mall around 6:47 pm and spread soon, according to UNB.

Local news portals said, on information, three firefighting units rushed to the spot and were working to put out the blaze. Later, five more units started the journey to the spot.

However, it is still not clear what actually caused the fire.

On March 1, 2024, at least 46 people, including 26 women and three children, were killed and 22 critically injured in a fire that broke out at the seven-storey ‘Green Cozy Cottage Shopping Mall’ at the Bailey Road.
