Bangladesh's High Commissioner to Pakistan, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain announced that direct flights will commence between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
He also mentioned that this initiative would further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
On Sunday, the Pakistani news outlet Express Tribune reported that Mr Iqbal revealed this plan during a press conference in Peshawar on Saturday.
Mr Iqbal stated that launching direct flights would enhance cooperation in various sectors, including tourism, education, and trade.
The high commissioner further emphasised that the relationship between Bangladesh and Pakistan is historical and will be further reinforced.
He pointed out the investment opportunities in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and the demand for Bangladeshi products.
Additionally, Mr Iqbal mentioned that trade is ongoing through a shipping route between Chattogram and Karachi.
