An ordinance has been promulgated raising the maximum age limit for entry to public sector jobs from 30 to 32 years of age.
The ordinance, issued on Monday, sets the same age limit for appointments in government as well as autonomous, semi-autonomous, statutory authorities, public non-financial corporations and self-governing bodies, reports bdnews24.com.
The decree issued by President Mohammed Shahabuddin says the maximum age limit for entering the service of all cadres of the Bangladesh Civil Service, or BCS, will be 32 years of age.
However, the directive does not say anything about the decision taken by the interim government to take part in BCS examinations four times.
