The interim government has instructed the Department of Immigration and Passports (DIP) to reinstate the phrase 'except Israel' on Bangladeshi passports.
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notice, signed by Deputy Secretary Nilima Afroze, in this regard on Sunday.
The sentence "This passport is valid for all countries of the world except Israel," which was previously included in Bangladeshi passports, was removed in 2021 while the Awami League was in power.
The then government removed the sentence from e-passports to align with "international standards".
