The Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chhatra Sansad (BAGCHAS) held a rally at Dhaka University on Thursday afternoon to express solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was mostly intercepted by Israel.
Titled ‘Sumud: Steadfast,’ the program emphasized Palestinians’ right to self-determination, UNB reports.
A procession, which started from the Raju Sculpture at Dhaka University and concluded at Projonmo Chattar in Shahbagh, preceded the rally.
“Palestine is not just a territory—Palestine is the name of a feeling,” said BAGCHAS member secretary Zahid Ahsan.
“Until Palestine is free, we will continue to fight,” he added.
Other speakers included BAGCHAS office secretary Mahfuzur Rahman, Dhaka University senior joint convener Limon Mahmud Hasan, Jagannath University branch convener Faisal Murad, Dhaka College branch convener Afzal Hossain, and joint member secretary Mohammad Sakib.
They voiced full support for the Sumud Flotilla and solidarity with the Palestinian people. The rally was coordinated by spokesperson Ashrefa Khatun.
