Bangladesh will observe the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers on Thursday.
The day will be marked by a number of activities, the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) said in a release on Tuesday.
The day’s programme will commence in the morning with the “Peacekeepers’ Run/Rally 2025” held in remembrance of those who have served in UN peacekeeping missions.
Later, at around 11:00 am, a special ceremony will be held at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Center, where wounded peacekeepers will be formally honored and a special presentation on UN peacekeeping operations will be showcased.
Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed will attend the event as the chief guest.
Besides, Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam will be present at Peacekeepers’ Run/Rally 2025 as the chief guest.
Special journals and news paper supplements will be published to highlight the significance of the day and talk shows on peacekeeping will be aired by TV channels, according to the release.
Documentaries on Bangladesh’s peacekeeping activities will also be aired.
