Just the day before, on Monday, two people in Bangladesh were killed and another was injured in mortar shelling from across the Myanmar border.
In response to the escalating border violence that resulted in two fatalities on the Bangladeshi side, the Bangladesh government summoned Myanmar's ambassador on Tuesday to protest.
Myanmar has been witnessing clashes between its forces and rebel forces for so long with clashes recently occurring along Bangladesh-Myanmar border, affecting border residents.
