Bangladeshi passport is 94th powerful one

The passport of Bangladesh is 94th powerful one in the world, according to an international index released on Wednesday.

Apart from Bangladesh, Lebanon also ranked 94th in the latest rankings.

The index shows that Bangladeshi passport holders can now visit 41 destinations of the world without prior visas.

The latest annual update of the Henley Passport Index puts Japanese passport at the top of the list which is jointly followed by Singaporean and Deutsch passports.

The citizens of Japan are now eligible for visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to a record 189 destinations.

In the last Henley Passport Index, passport of Bangladesh was ranked 95th.

In South Asia, Indian passport is ranked 76th with visa-free access to 59 destinations while Sri Lankan one is ranked 93rd with access to 42 destinations.

The index puts Pakistan passport in 98th position, which provides visa-free access to 33 destinations of the world. 

The Henley Passport Index surveys a total of 199 different passports against 227 different travel destinations, including countries, territories, and micro-states.
