Bangladeshi worker killed in glove factory rack collapse in Malaysia

A Bangladeshi migrant worker was killed and five others injured after a 17-tier storage rack collapsed at a glove factory named ‘Glov Master Factory’ at Kampung Olak Lempit village in Kuala Langat district of Malaysia on Tuesday.
The deceased, Mohammad Rahman (33), was pronounced dead at the spot after being extricated from the debris by rescue teams, according to the New Straits Times report.
Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations, said they received a distress call at 10.54 am about the incident, and a team from the KLIA Fire and Rescue Station arrived at 11.05 am.
Upon arriving, they noticed five workers had been pulled out safely, but one was stuck underneath the pile.
"Five victims were rescued by members of the public before the arrival of the fire brigade, while one victim was still missing at that time," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He added that search and rescue operations continued until the last victim was found buried under the debris at 11.20 am.
"The victim was confirmed dead by the Health Ministry team present at the scene.
