All Bangladeshi nationals currently living or stuck in Nepal are strongly advised not to move outside and to stay inside their respective places or hotels, as the Himalayan country's government falls amid mass upsurge.

The scheduled flights from Dhaka to Kathmandu were cancelled.

"All Bangladeshi nationals, i.e., inbound passengers to Nepal, are also advised not to undertake flights to Nepal owing to prevailing security situations until further advice," officials quoted a government advisory as saying Tuesday.

In case of emergency, Bangladeshis are asked to contact +9779803872759 or +977 9851128381.

In addition to the 36-member Bangladesh national football team, a 51-member delegation from the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Mirpur, who came to Nepal as part of their overseas study tour, is stuck in Kathmandu.

Their daily programmes are cancelled, and they are scheduled to fly to Dhaka on September 12.

The delegation is making daily assessments of the situation regarding their movement. The Bangladesh Embassy "is fully in touch with them" through their local coordinator.

Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Himalayan Airlines, a Nepalese airline, cancelled their scheduled flights bound for Kathmandu from Dhaka on Tuesday.

This decision was made due to the suspension of all operations at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu amid political unrest in Nepal.

Biman Flight BG-371, carrying 114 passengers, returned to Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon after being denied landing clearance by the Air Traffic Control (ATC) of Kathmandu airport, according to A.B.M. Raoshan Kabir, General Manager (Public Relations) of Biman, who spoke to The Financial Express.

After circling in Kathmandu airspace for nearly 55 minutes, the flight eventually returned to Dhaka and landed safely at the airport.

Raoshan added that 94 passengers, including the Bangladesh National Football Team, were scheduled to return to Dhaka on the returning flight, BG 372, operated by the same aircraft.

He said Biman will arrange hotel accommodations for the stranded passengers in Kathmandu due to the cancellation of flight BG 372.

Additionally, authorities at the airport in Dhaka informed through a message that Himalaya Airlines, a Nepalese airline, also canceled its scheduled flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu.

Nepal's main international gateway saw major flight disruptions on Tuesday after protests flared up near its perimeter.

Fires set by demonstrators created smoke and poor visibility, eventually leading to the suspension of all international flights around 12:45 pm on that day.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal stated that flights were grounded for safety reasons and could not confirm when operations would resume, according to media reports.

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned on Tuesday as anti-corruption demonstrators defied an indefinite curfew and clashed with police, a day after 19 people died in violent protests triggered by a social media ban.
