BD adds 2,851 corona cases, 27 deaths in daily count

Confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in Bangladesh reached 252,502 on Friday, a rise of 2,851 from the previous day, while related deaths increased by 27 to 3,333; according to data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Additional Director General (Admin) of DGHS Dr Nasima Sultana presented the latest figures while briefing the media live on the daily Covid-19 bulletin at 2:30pm today.

The fresh coronavirus infections were found after testing 12,699 in 84 labs samples across the country, she said.

Among the newly deceased, 24 were male and the rest were female.

Also, 1,760 more patients have recovered from the disease during the 24-hour period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 145,584.

Globally, 19,275,538 people have been infected by the novel coronavirus and 717,938 people died as of Firday noon, according to the Worldometer.

Of the infected, 6,184,796 are currently being treated with 65,264 remain in serious or critical condition.

So far, 12,372,804 people have recovered.
