BD-Myanmar jt working group by Nov 30

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said a joint working group with representatives of Myanmar and Bangladesh will be formed by November 30 to facilitate the repatriation of Rohingyas to their homeland.

"We gave Rohingya people shelter in our country seeing their miseries but now we have been facing various challenges," said the Home Minister on Thursday while talking to reporters after unveiling the foundation plaque Araiani Police Camp at Nalitabari of Sherpur district.

The joint working group will take decision when and how the Rohingya people will be sent back to their homeland. The group also will also work for their development, said Asaduzzaman.

"A 12-member team recently visited Myanmar and signed an agreement with the Myanmar government in this regard," said the Minister.

Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury was also present at the programme.

Later, the two ministers distributed solar lights among members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ansar-VDP and meritorious 20 students from class I to class X of different educational institutions of the upazila.
