BGB ready to deal with any situation centring national election: DG

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General (DG) Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan on Sunday said that the paramilitary force is always ready to deal with any situation including maintaining law and order in the country centring the upcoming national election.

The DG of BGB made the remark at the 45th founding anniversary celebration of Force Support Wing of the BGB at Pilkhana BGB headquarters in the city on Sunday, reports UNB.

Addressing the function, the BGB chief said this force has an unforgettable contribution in the freedom struggle of 1971. Since its inception, BGB has been fulfilling the noble responsibility of protecting the country's sovereignty with great skill and professionalism, he said.

BGB's exemplary role in providing assistance to the civil administration in maintaining the law and order of the country and in dealing with any emergency situation including natural calamities is being appreciated everywhere, the DG of the BGB said.

He also said that in addition to border protection, BGB is always ready to deal with any situation including carrying out any responsibility assigned to BGB and maintaining law and order during election.

A banquet was organized to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Force Support Wing of the BGB at the BGB Headquarters in Pilkhana, Dhaka. The DG BGB was present as the chief guest at the event and cut a cake.

Senior officials of BGB headquarters, senior officials of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and various intelligence agencies, print and electronic media journalists and all levels of officers and soldiers of Force Support Wing were present.
