Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has condemned a false and malicious rumour circulating on the social media, titled “India occupies 62 kilometres in Lalmonirhat,” calling it a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and undermine the national security.

In a statement, the BGB clarified that the claim is entirely fabricated and part of a broader anti-state effort to create confusion and damage the country’s image.

The force reaffirmed that every inch of Bangladesh’s border, including the region of Lalmonirhat, is securely under the BGB’s control.

The BGB emphasised the unwavering dedication of its personnel, who are driven by patriotism and professionalism, ensuring the safety and integrity of the nation’s borders.

The force also urged the public to remain cautious about unverified information on the social media and refrain from spreading rumours without proper verification.

BGB’s statement serves as a strong reminder to remain vigilant against misinformation and prioritise facts over any sensational claim.
