BGP rescues 37 Bangladeshis at Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 37 Bangladeshis from Sadipur border area under Benapole Port Police Station while entering into Bangladesh illegally on Tuesday morning.

Commanding officer Lt Col Ariful Haque said a team of BGB-49 conducted a drive in the area and detained 11 women, 19 men and seven children.

The human traffickers managed to flee away from the spot sensing the presence of the law enforcers

Hailing from different areas of Pirojpur, Narail and Barisal districts, they went to India several years back looking for good job there, as per report on UNB.

The victims were handed over to the Benapole Port Police Station.

A case was filed.
