Bhutanese PM extends Eid greetings to Sheikh Hasina

Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering on Saturday extended greetings to his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr over a telephonic conversation

“The Bhutanese premier made a phone call to the Bangladesh prime minister at about 7:55 pm and extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to her (Sheikh Hasina) and the people of Bangladesh,” PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said, reports BSS.

During the 15-minute conversation, the Bangladesh premier also extended her greetings to Lotay Tshering and the Bhutanese people on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

The press secretary said the Bhutanese premier enquired about the damages caused by super cyclone Amphan in Bangladesh and expressed sympathy over the loss of life and property due to the cyclone.

The Bangladesh prime minister thanked her Bhutanese counterpart for making the phone call and expressing sympathy over the damages caused by the Amphan.

The issue related to ongoing coronavirus situation also came up for discussion between the two leaders, Karim said.
