A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG-148) that experienced a mechanical issue after taking off from the United Arab Emirates’ Dubai has landed at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport.

Biman General Manager (Public Relations) ABM Raoshan Kabir confirmed the news on Friday afternoon, saying: “The Biman flight took off from Dubai at 7am. It landed in Chattogram at 1:33pm.”

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner model aircraft had been “grounded” at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday due to a “problem with a wheel”. The flight had landed in Dubai at 10:50pm that night.

The flight was carrying 275 passengers, of whom 55 were headed to Dhaka and the rest to Chattogram.

The aircraft was scheduled to leave the airport for Chattogram at 12:05am on Thursday morning and land at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport at 7am.

Initially, the flight was to take on a wheel from an Emirates Airlines aircraft, but it was eventually replaced with a wheel and parts from another Biman flight. After a 32-hour delay for repairs, it landed in Chattogram.

After a one-hour layover, the flight touched down at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 3:27pm.
