Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) is working relentlessly to protect the rivers from further degradation to maintain environmental balance, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has said.
"BIWTA officials are working relentlessly to protect Riverine Bangladesh," the state minister said while inaugurating BIWTA's annual sports competition 2024 at the Dhaka University playground in the capital on Friday morning.
BIWTA's Chairman Commodore Arif Ahmed Mostafa, BIWTA's member (Engineer), Mohammad Monwar Uz Zaman, member (planning and operation) M Selim Fakir, member (finance) Commander M Rafiul Hasain (retd), Annual Sports Competition Convener M Sajidur Rahman, and divisional heads, among others, participated in the competition.
