BMD predicts light to moderate rainfall

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain for many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9:00 am Wednesday.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Sylhet division and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," the Met Office said in a bulletin.

Temperature during the day and night may remain nearly unchanged over the country, reports UNB.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends up to the North Bay, said the bulletin.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak over the North Bay.
