Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Dr Asif Nazrul has said all the services of Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) have been digitalised through the launch of "Overseas
Employment Platform".

"With the launch of the "Overseas Employment Platform" on April 1, 2025, all the services of BMET have now become completely digital. The 64 district employment offices, 110 TTCs and more than 2,200 recruiting agencies have
been connected to this platform," he wrote in a post shared in his verified Facebook account today (Tuesday), BSS reports.

He said, in this system which is connected to 185 missions around the world, all the activities like registration of workers, verification of requisitions, approval, training and immigration clearance are now accomplished in one place.

The adviser said the system has stopped informal transactions of about Taka 100 crore annually, while transparency and accountability have been ensured in the entire process.

As a result of this digital transformation, he said, the cost of fees for overseas workers is being saved by at least Taka 1,000 while migrants can track the status of their applications online, the processing time of
recruiting agencies has been reduced by half, and the government is able to take quick decisions based on real-time data.

In addition, the launch of smart card and barcode-based online immigration clearance is being done within a few hours, free of charge and without cash transactions, Dr Asif Nazrul said.

In fact, he wrote, bribery, brokering and irregularities have stopped.
