BNP recommends dissolution of RAB, formation of police commission

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has recommended the dissolution of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

The party has already submitted this recommendation to the police reform committee formed by the interim government.

BNP's Standing Committee member, Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, stated at a press conference on Tuesday that although the police reform committee did not request any recommendations from BNP, the party has submitted a list of suggestions.

He emphasised that reforming the police force, an essential service of the state, is a pressing need at this time.

Hafiz also mentioned that BNP has recommended the formation of a police commission in their proposal.
