The BNP's highest policy-making body, the National Standing Committee, is in an emergency meeting over the party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health.
The meeting began at 9am on Monday at her Gulshan office.
Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is presiding over the brainstorming from London.
Khaleda’s latest health condition will be discussed in the meeting.
The former prime minister is currently receiving treatment in critical condition at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka’s Bashundhara, under the supervision of a medical board comprising local and foreign physicians.
The 79-year-old has been battling multiple long-term illnesses, including arthritis, diabetes and complications involving her kidneys, liver, lungs and eyes.
She was admitted to the hospital on Nov 23 after tests revealed a lung infection.
