Bodies of two madras students who had gone missing around 22 hours ago were retrieved from the Brahmaputra River in Mymensingh on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were Abir, 7, son of Habib Mia, Jubayed, 6, son of Mumtaj Uddin, both hailing from Charalgi village under Charfaradi union of Pakundia upazila in Kishoreganj district, reports UNB.
Locals said when nine students were going to their madrasa located in Dutter Bazar area from the nearby Pakundia upazila by a boat on Tuesday morning it capsized.
Six managed to swim ashore and three drowned amid the strong current, they said.
After about one hour locals recovered the body of IX-student Shapla Akter, daughter of Mainuddin of the same village.
Though divers conducted search operations in the river the whole day they failed to trace the bodies of two others.
The relatives of the victims boarding a boat carried out a search operation in the river on Wednesday morning and around two kilometers off the spot where they went missing found the bodies floating, said Charfaradi union Chairman Abdul Mannan.
Later, the bodies were brought to the houses.
