Bodies of two missing youths recovered from Buriganga

Naval police have recovered the bodies of two youths who jumped off the Postogola Bridge into the Buriganga River in Dhaka’s South Keraniganj on Wednesday afternoon.

The recovery was made around 9am after locals informed them of the bodies floating in the river, said Hasnabad Naval Police Outpost SI Rabiul Haq said on Friday.

He said they identified the bodies as Emon, 20, and Anika, 18, whom their families had reported to them as going missing since Wednesday.

Neither police nor their families, however, could say for sure whether the incident was a double suicide.
