A crude bomb has exploded in front of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal’s residence on Dhanmondi Road No. 5 in Dhaka.
Police confirmed the incident occurred shortly after 12:30 am on Thursday at the main gate of the house.
Sub-Inspector Md Shahjalal of Dhanmondi Police Station told bdnews24.com that it was unclear who planted the explosive, reports bdnews24.com.
He added that no casualties were reported, saying: “Around 1:15 am, we went to the site and repeatedly rang the doorbell, but there was no response from inside.
Officer Shahjalal said, “Some locals mentioned that the law secretary is presently staying in the former minister’s residence. I could not confirm this.”
Earlier, a police officer was injured in back-to-back crude bomb explosions in Pallabi.
A passenger bus, meanwhile, caught fire in Rampura at around 10:00 pm, leaving the vehicle completely charred.
