Bomb-like object found at Pabna’s Ishwardi rail junction

Authorities have discovered a bomb-like object at the Ishwardi railway junction in Pabna.

The mysterious object, wrapped in red tape, was found on the railway tracks early Friday, said Subir Kumar Das, Ishwardi Upazila Nirbahi Officer.

However, the authorities have yet to confirm whether the suspicious item is indeed an explosive device. The Rajshahi RAB bomb disposal unit has been called in to investigate.

Law enforcement suspect that the object may have been deliberately left to incite panic among the public.

An individual has been detained on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

Security measures have been ramped up at the junction in the wake of the discovery.
