Brahmanbaria’s Sarail Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sirajum Munira Kaisan has been withdrawn after she posted a status on Facebook early on Wednesday morning claiming that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the proclaimer of independence.
The deputy commissioner withdrew her in an official order.
Sarail Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Mosharraf Hossain also confirmed Ms Kaisan’s withdrawal.
The post, made on Wednesday morning by the Sarail assistant commissioner (land), caused controversy by claiming Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the proclaimer of independence.
Following the post, Kaisan was confronted by BNP leaders and activists during the Independence Day parade at Annada High School field in Sarail.
Deleting the post 45 minutes later, she claimed in another post that the original was made after her Facebook account was hacked.
