Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei observed the Historic Mujib Nagar Day on Saturday.
The programme started with recitation from the Holy Quran, says a spokesperson of the HC.
One minute’s silence was observed then to remember and show respect to the country’s father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the four national leaders, martyrs and freedom fighters.
Speeches from President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were read out after that.
In her speech High Commissioner Nahida Iqbal highlighted the significance of the day in the history of the nation. Later, a documentary on the liberation war of the country was screened.
