BSF shoots Bangladeshi dead along C’nawabganj border

A Bangladeshi national was shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Kiranganj border in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Dulal, 20, son of Safiku Islam of the area, reports a news agency.

Quoting locals, Binodpur Union Parishad Chairman Enamul Haque said BSF members of Murshidabad camp fired gunshots on a group of youths, including Dulal, when they went near border pillar No 178 at around 2:00am, leaving Dulal dead.

Later, the BSF men dragged away Dulal's body, he added.

Commanding officer of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) Rangpur-59 battalion Lieutenant Colonel Mahmudul Hasan said BGB will hold a flag meeting with BSF over the incident soon.
